About the Role

Join a leading EPC contractor specializing in engineered solutions for the water and wastewater treatment industry. We’re seeking a Chemical Engineer with strong process design and commissioning experience to contribute to the delivery of turnkey treatment plant projects. This role involves detailed process engineering, plant commissioning, and operator training, as well as providing technical support to the sales and project execution teams. If you’re a technically driven, hands-on engineer with experience in water or wastewater process design and enjoy seeing projects through from concept to commissioning, this is an excellent opportunity to grow within a highly specialized engineering environment.

What you’ll be doing
  • Process Design Responsibilities
    • Perform detailed process engineering calculations, including mass and energy balances.
    • Size process units and prepare process data sheets for equipment procurement.
    • Develop and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
    • Compile detailed equipment schedules, specifying capacities and selections for procurement.
    • Develop process control philosophies and documentation.
    • Review and approve general arrangements and electrical functionality drawings for process compliance.
  • Commissioning and Training
    • Participate in the commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants.
    • Travel locally and internationally as required (approximately 70% local / 30% international).
    • Apply multi-disciplinary knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
    • Conduct operator training and technical handover sessions.
  • Sales and Technical Support
    • Assist with basic process design and solution proposals during the sales phase.
    • Prepare preliminary equipment lists and process flow inputs for tenders and quotations.
What you’ll need
  • Beng, BTech or Diploma in Chemical Engineering (essential).
  • 3–5 years’ process design and commissioning experience, ideally in water and wastewater treatment.
  • Strong understanding of process design fundamentals, mass and energy balances, and P&ID development.
  • Exposure to plant control philosophies, instrumentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (local and international).
  • Medically fit to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
