About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Process Engineer to join our Product Industrialisation team. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and supporting industrialisation activities, ensuring that new product designs are optimised for manufacture, assembly, and support.

You will act as a technical coordinator across multi-disciplinary teams, driving Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) solutions, supporting production line commissioning, and enabling smooth handover to Operations Management. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about product development, industrialisation, and continuous improvement within a high‑tech manufacturing environment.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

Minimum: B Eng (Mechanical Engineering) – 1–3 years in mechanical engineering design and analysis. Solid problem‑solving skills, particularly in industrialisation issues; ability to provide technical support to co‑workers and Operations Management. Practical understanding and application of DFMAS principles, with the ability to plan, structure, and execute DFMA processes.

Key Technical Skills
  • Strong foundation in mathematics, physical sciences, and general mechanical/optical engineering principles
  • Mechanical design for new product development based on system engineering and acquisition principles
  • Knowledge of high‑precision manufactured products and technologies
  • Experience in DFMA tools, techniques, and producibility analysis
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and EN/PFMEA, Production line design, commissioning, and optimisation
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, assembly, and quality control techniques
Key Responsibilities
  • Task Planning and Contracting – Work within multi‑disciplinary teams to define objectives, consolidate inputs, and plan industrialisation projects; support project planning, scoping, and milestone tracking with Project and Line Managers; ensure alignment between project teams, facility managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Product Design Experience / Impact – Apply engineering processes during product development, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures; support design optimisation for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency; maintain and update SAP data packs, MBLs, and assembly instructions.
  • Producibility Analysis – Conduct DFMA reviews, producibility analysis, and record lessons learned; establish PFMEAs, compile control plans, and manage process capability studies; ensure product drawings and documentation meet standards of completeness and correctness.
  • MBL / SBL Requirements and Design – Define and maintain Manufacturing Bill of Labour (MBL) and Support Bill of Labour (SBL) requirements; create and manage assembly instructions, facility layouts, and workstation designs; oversee configuration management and ensure production readiness documentation is maintained.
  • Production BOMs and SAP Configuration – Develop and maintain production BOMs and routing structures within SAP / MRP systems; support cost roll‑up, procurement categorisation, and material verification; generate and manage data capture reports and production records.
  • Assembly Line Commissioning and Acceptance – Conduct production readiness and handover reviews; support commissioning of new assembly lines and training of Operations personnel; drive throughput analysis, acceptance testing, and pre‑production planning.
