Responsibilities
  • Drive and implement strategic objectives for the process and quality division.
  • Analyse plant losses and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and execute annual improvement plans aligned with operational goals.
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and innovative work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, health and environmental policies.
  • Formulate and manage cost-effective raw material and packaging strategies.
  • Maintain and improve product performance based on customer and market feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to national quality standards (e.g. SANS 266).
  • Oversee compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.
  • Sustain and improve Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and QMS outputs.
  • Lead new product development in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.
  • Ensure QMS integrity during change implementation.
  • Promote a culture of customer focus and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver on agreed quality and control plan targets.
Requirements
  • BEng or equivalent in Chemical Engineering (essential)
  • Qualification in Quality Control / Management (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years in a chemical / process / quality engineering role
  • Prior experience in quality and project management
  • Exposure to WCM, Lean or Six Sigma methodologies (advantageous)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills
  • Effective communicator with strong report writing and presentation ability
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Visio and Python advantageous)
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and detail
