Job description

Purpose Of The Position

This position is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Process Controller to join our team at defy Jacob’s plant. The Process Controller will be responsible for ensuring that all our parts meet quality standards by measuring and inspecting parts, conducting first-off and last-off inspections, and comparing results against master samples and engineering drawings.

Uphold the quality and safety of products within the functions they perform (listed in this document). In addition to this, the employee is to complete all other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Check if Correct coil is used (Thickness, Grade, Material part number vs produced part).
2. First-off verification (Check measurement against master samples, drawings, checklist and jigs).
3. Hourly checks and using a checklist.
4. Last-Off verification and check sheet. (If damaged, send with tool after marking the defect).
5. Verifying part visual appearance against Master Sample.
6. Verifying part measurements against Engineering Drawing.
7. DQT of coil (Roller marks, Dent, White rust, Width, Incorrect grade).
8. Complete and plug the green sticker of dispatch component to the raw stores. (Fill out the card and place on the stillages for sign-off on quality: Date, shift, Qty, Part number, Description).
9. Check the incoming coil for stickers and collect sample plates.
10. Prepare sample plates for tensile test and Helios test.

Qualification / Minimum Requirements

1. Matric Certificate or N3 Mechanical Engineering.
2. Computer Literacy.
3. Engineering Graphic Design (EGD) Subject.
4. Understanding of Technical Drawings, Tolerances, and Clearances.
5. Experience with Usage Measuring Instruments will be advantageous.
