About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of highly complex mechanical systems and subsystems, defining architectural approaches and ensuring technical feasibility and innovation.
- Perform advanced engineering analyses, including structural, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate intricate designs and optimize performance under extreme conditions.
- Develop and implement innovative design concepts, working closely with R&D, product management, and manufacturing teams through remote collaboration platforms.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level mechanical engineers, providing technical leadership, conducting design reviews, and fostering best practices in design methodology.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and design tools, ensuring the team remains at the cutting edge of mechanical engineering practices.
- Act as a technical expert, providing critical input on product strategy, roadmaps, and long-term technical vision for mechanical systems.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on complex system design and architecture.
- Proven track record of leading challenging design projects from concept through to mass production.
- Expertise in advanced CAD/CAE tools and simulation techniques, with a deep understanding of material science and manufacturing processes.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to define solutions for ambiguous problems in a remote setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, effective in motivating and directing technical teams virtually.
