Job summary

A major engineering company is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for a contract role in the UK. Responsibilities include developing electrical power system designs for energy transition projects. Candidates must have experience in designing large industrial power systems and the right to work in the UK. The ideal candidate will have expertise in power system designs, high voltage equipment, and familiarity with ETAP for power system studies.

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in the SE of England.

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Our client is a major EPC, who are seeking a lead / principal Electrical Engineer to work on energy transition and energy security projects. The role is to develop the electrical power system designs required to support the process design. Demonstrable experience of designing large industrial power systems is a prerequisite for the roles.

The experience should include:
  • Power system designs for H2 / NH3 / LNG / Refining projects, sizing and selection of high voltage equipment, Large Frequency converters, AC/ DC UPS systems, etc.
  • Development of philosophies and specifications
    Input to estimating.
  • Ability to complete power system studies/calculations using ETAP / review of studies by others.
