Position: Principal Consultant Technical Lead – Western Cape
The role is for an energetic, client‑facing senior individual with a broad technical background, pre‑sales and advisory experience, hands‑on delivery skills, and project management capability.
Key Focus Areas
Sales and Pre‑Sales
- Contribute to customer sales meetings, supporting the account management team as a technical advisor.
- Compile high‑quality RFP responses for turnkey, managed and consulting project requests.
- Deliver customer presentations and pitches.
- Maintain RFP and proposal templates.
- Collaborate with onsite technical teams to mentor and support technical work.
Project Delivery and Team Management
- Serve as a roving technical thought leader and advisor across onsite technical teams.
- Lead managed projects, providing people management, technical leadership, and project‑management activities.
- Supervise consulting team members and drive performance against KPIs.
- Execute project governance, regular check‑ins, performance reviews, and agile delivery practices.
- Ensure integration with client teams and client satisfaction.
- Interview and select candidates.
Marketing
- Collaborate with Marketing to document projects and produce case studies.
- Assist in creating technical thought‑leadership content for social media.
- Represent CyberPro Consulting at conferences and trade shows.
Tech Leadership
- Research and proof‑of‑concept work into new technologies (software, data, digital, cloud, AI).
- Drive innovation, automation, RPA and AI initiatives internally.
- Provide advisory and consulting services to customers as required.
- Recruit suitable technical staff and lead internal skills and technology sessions.
- Co‑work with HR to document and enhance team capabilities.
Vendor Partnerships
- Grow partner relationships with AWS, Microsoft, Salesforce, Snowflake.
- Obtain necessary pre‑sales, sales, and technical certifications for partnerships.
- Co‑sell and co‑brand with vendor partners.
- Drive technical certifications relationships.
Location & Working Hours
- Full‑time position with core working hours and flexible start time between 7–9 am.
- Location: Johannesburg (Woodmead) or Cape Town (Century City) offices, with regular customer travel in the region and occasional medium‑term deployments.
- Office‑based role; remote work limited to one day per week (Wednesday).
Qualifications and Experience
- Open to all races.
- Minimum 10 years of career history, with at least 5 years of hands‑on software, data, or digital technical work.
- At least 5 years in a team‑lead or senior role with management responsibilities.
- Minimum 2 years of client‑facing pre‑sales and/or advisory.
- BSc in IT, Math/Stats, Engineering or related STEM field.
- IT industry certifications (Microsoft Certified, AWS Certified, Salesforce Certified, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.) are advantageous.
- Project management, business process, analysis, and technical architecture qualifications (SAFe, Agile, DevOps, BABOK, TOGAF, etc.) are advantageous.
Skills Required
- Experience in client‑facing sales, pre‑sales, advisory, and consulting activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Hands‑on experience in software, data, or digital solution design and architecture (e.g., .NET, Java).
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure, and ability to advise on cloud adoption.
- Experience with agile project delivery of software or data projects.
- Understanding of industry verticals (banking, insurance, wealth & investments, retail) is desirable.
- Proficient in technical proposal writing and documentation.
