Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in South Africa is looking for a Vehicle Sales Executive. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales within the motor industry, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships. Responsibilities include driving sales, attending to customer inquiries, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. A Grade 12 qualification and a valid driver’s license are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ sales experience in the motor industry.
  • Proven track record with references.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Valid and unendorsed SA Code 8 driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicle and accessory sales while providing exceptional customer experience.
  • Attend to customers, handle inquiries, and arrange demonstration drives.
  • Prospect new leads and follow up with customers to achieve sales targets.
  • Ensure proper vehicle handover and meet Customer Experience targets.

Overview

The Vehicle Sales Executive will drive vehicle and accessory sales while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is professional, motivated, and customer-focused, with proven motor industry experience. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, combined with discipline, product knowledge, and the ability to work independently under pressure, are essential. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and a commitment to achieving sales and customer satisfaction targets.

Practical Knowledge
  • Understand the full sales cycle and retail motor industry.
  • Familiar with all related products, supplementary items, and brand offerings.
Proficient Experience
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and work under pressure.
  • Build customer relationships, negotiate effectively, and work independently.
Sales Responsibilities
  • Attend to customers, handle inquiries, and arrange demonstration drives.
  • Prospect new leads, follow up with customers, and achieve sales targets.
Customer Care
  • Introduce customers to accessories and additional services.
  • Ensure proper vehicle handover and meet Customer Experience targets.
Administration
  • Comply with company policies and complete all documentation accurately.
  • Maintain transaction records, collect payments, and keep vehicles showroom-ready.
Product / Industry Knowledge
  • Attend meetings, training, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Perform ad hoc administrative or other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 qualification / equivalent.
  • A tertiary qualification in Sales / Marketing is beneficial.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ sales experience in the motor industry.
  • Proven track record with references.
  • Good verbal and written professional communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Valid and unendorsed SA Code 8 driver's license.
