Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Body Repair Technician for our Benoni, South Africa facility. The role involves assessing structural damage, performing bodywork, and restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition with attention to cosmetic and structural accuracy.

You will inspect, repair, and align panels, use frame straightening equipment, and prepare vehicles for painting while ensuring safety standards and OEM specifications are met. A solid workshop background is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Automotive Body Repair Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in using various body repair tools and equipment, including welding and straightening machinery.
• Strong understanding of vehicle construction and automotive body systems.
• Ability to interpret repair manuals and schematics.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Must be able to work efficiently and effectively in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural and cosmetic damage.
• Repair or replace damaged body panels, bumpers, and trim.
• Perform structural repairs using frame straightening equipment and techniques.
• Fit and align body panels to ensure proper gaps and fitment.
• Prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
