Somerset College is a leading independent, co-educational day and boarding school offering schooling from Grade 000 to Matric-IEB and Cambridge AS and A-levels. Founded in 1997 Somerset College is a welcoming, stimulating centre of learning situated in the beautiful Cape Winelands.

The College seeks to employ an energetic, creative and experienced Physical Education Teacher who is passionate about developing young people.

Pre-Preparatory and Junior Preparatory Physical Education Teacher

Commencement Date: 1 April 2026

The successful candidate must:

  • have the suitable academic and professional qualifications;
  • have experience in developing and implementing a comprehensive Physical Education curriculum that aligns with the College’s ethos and educational goals;
  • have experience working with children in the Pre-Preparatory and Junior Preparatory age groups;
  • have the ability and qualifications to teach a ‘Learn to Swim’ programme;
  • have the proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • be a strong administrator and possess excellent organisational skills;
  • be able to initiate and sustain initiatives;
  • uphold the Christian ethos and values of the school;
