The Centre for Student Health and Wellness is part of the Registrar's portfolio, offering Primary Healthcare services to students. The department is a nurse‑managed facility with a medical practitioner attending to patients on a sessional basis. All nurses are PHC trained with a dispensing licence. The incumbent will provide comprehensive health and wellness services to students within the university environment.
A fully functional Primary Healthcare service is available on all four campuses, offering services such as Primary Health Care, HIV Counselling and Testing (HCT), Reproductive Health Care, Travel Health, health promotion, monitoring of chronic medical conditions, provision of medical support to sports events, and vaccination programmes for specific students. Interaction with students also occurs outside the clinic with activation programmes and awareness campaigns.
Travelling between campuses is included in departmental activities. Working outside normal working hours may be necessary to implement outreach initiatives.
