Power BI & Data Analyst Reporting Administrator
Type: Fully remotely from South Africa for a UK client.
Hours: UK hours (1-2 hours time difference between UK and SA)
Salary: R50K – R75K CTC (depending on experience)

Job Summary
This position supports the interpretation and transformation of data into actionable insights using Power BI and other reporting tools. You will assist in creating templates, updating reports, and ensuring data accuracy across multiple projects. Working closely with the Asset Manager, you’ll help translate CAFM exports, asset registers, and service data into clear visuals and compelling narratives that inform decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Analysis
- Collect, process, and analyze data from various sources, including CAFM systems, asset registers, helpdesk, compliance, HR data, and tender returns.
- Analyze M&E asset data from surveys, maintenance records, and other sources to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in client data.
- Support benchmarking, mobilization, and operational reviews.
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
- Build dashboards and visual summaries (Power BI, Excel, Tableau) (desirable).
- Translate technical findings into clear, client‑friendly outputs such as one‑pagers, presentations, and reports.
- Advise on data quality, structure, and reporting improvements.
Data Management & Integrity
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and version control across all reports.
- Support the development and refinement of asset registers and data models.
- Automate and streamline recurring reporting processes.
- Optimize data models and performance within Power BI.
Collaboration & Requirements Gathering
- Work with teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into meaningful visualizations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve data accessibility and usability.
- Work closely with the Head of Asset Management or Head of Consultancy.
Technical Integration
- Connect Power BI to various data sources, including Excel, SQL databases, cloud platforms, and CRM systems.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, and Power Pivot).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
- Ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience handling large datasets
- Knowledge of SQL and database querying.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly across multiple projects and deadlines.
Desirable
- Familiarity with CAFM systems (e.g., Concept, Maximo, Planon, Archibus) and data collection tools such as Mobiess.
- Proven experience working with data in Facilities Management (FM) or the built environment.
- Comfortable interpreting financial and service data, asset lifecycles, and performance metrics.
- Experience building dashboards and visual summaries in Power BI, Excel, or Tableau.
- Knowledge of data modeling and integration with CRM or SQL databases.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Background in facilities management, finance, education, or operations.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
