Job summary

The University of the Free State invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of Public Health. The appointee will pursue an academic or professional career in Public Health with emphasis on Mental Health, Digital Health and Environmental Health (Planetary Health).

The fellowship is competitive, based on academic achievements, publications and potential, and runs for two years with an option to renew for a further year after review.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant field.
• Open to SA and foreign nationals for full‑time research.
• Must not hold full‑time salaried employment during the fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct innovative research in Public Health.
• Author/co-author at least three DHET‑accredited outputs per year.
• Initiate projects and seek funding for them.
• Register and reside as a postdoctoral fellow at UFS and participate in relevant activities.
