Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Plumbing and Pipefitting Technician for our maintenance team in Bloemfontein. You will install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of relevant experience, trades certification, and the ability to read blueprints and interpret diagrams to determine layout and material requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Plumber or Pipefitter with relevant trade certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial and industrial plumbing and pipefitting.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and other plumbing and drainage systems.
• Inspects structures to locate and mark areas where pipes should be installed.
• Cut, thread, and bend pipes using pipe cutters, pipe threaders, and pipe-bending machines.
• Assemble and install pipe systems for steam, hot and cold water, and drainage.
• Test systems for leaks and ensure proper water pressure and flow.
• Interpret blueprints and building specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
