Job summary

Sasol Secunda is hiring a Production Operator to set up and operate production machinery and support 1st line maintenance as needed. You will ensure safe handling of materials, maintain cleanliness, and assist with the day-to-day running of the plant in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates have National Senior Certificate/N3 and 1-2+ years of relevant experience, with a proactive approach to safety and teamwork in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of machines, benches, PPE, etc. according to planned routine.
• Packing materials in storage areas according to planned routine.
• Safe handling, packing and storage of raw materials / hazardous chemicals / gas cylinders.
• Loading and off loading of vehicles.
• Ensure general neatness of area of responsibility.
• Perform painting tasks as planned Sasol Nitro Employee Induction including Emergency Preparedness.
• Ad hoc job related tasks on request of more senior personnel.
• Work overtime as and when required.
• Safe and correct use of hand tools and equipment.
• Production assist with day to day running of the plant
• Assist to maintain general health, safety and environmental systems.
• Correct identification and use of PPE.
• Participation in emergency preparedness exercises.
• Routine inspection on safety equipment and ensure maintenance where applicable.
• Adhere to all safety and work standards.
• Access control and safety standby duties
