We are seeking a Plant Manager (Wastewater), for a permanent role based in Cape Town, Western Cape

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
  • Relevant Technical Diploma (or similar) in Water Treatment, Civil / Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • DWS Class V Process Controller with at least 5 years’ verifiable operation, maintenance and management experience at a Class B or higher WWTW
  • Skilled in Water and Wastewater Management and relevant management experience
  • High level of computer literacy on MS Office
  • Mechanical and analytical aptitude (troubleshooting)
  • Able to delegate and measure employee performance
  • Able to communicate well and do presentations to teams / clients / customers
  • Good managerial skills and able to motivate performance
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Manage all plant operational, maintenance and management of day-to-day tasks, including issues relating to shifts, staff and hand over
  • Maintain effective administration and control procedures to meet performance objectives
  • Optimise the use of financial resources by minimising cost, through appropriate financial cost control
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate and up to date operational and maintenance records
  • Reporting on all aspects of the plant performance, compliance and processes
  • Ensure efficient resource management of employees to ensure they are able to meet the performance objectives required of them.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering a professional and high-quality service
  • Control budget and ensure contractual requirements are met and achieved within budget
  • Manage and maintain ISO 9000, 14001, 50001 and 18001 systems and work procedures by monitoring and developing training actions and new procedures as and when required
  • Perform plant performance monitoring and quality control as predetermined quality control schedule
  • Compile Monthly Plant Progress Reports, schedule and attend client meetings
  • Client liaison and correspondence
