Job summary

AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Planner Short Term for the Northern Cape to ensure timely ore availability through effective mine planning for the short term. The role involves planning, data capture and reporting, with SHERQ adherence in the assigned area.

Required: National Diploma in Mining Engineering; B Tech in Mining Engineering/Metalliferous is an advantage; 8 years hard rock/base metal/iron ore surface mining + 6 months planning experience is preferred; Blasting

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Mining Engineering (NQF 6) is required.
• B Tech Degree in Mining Engineering / Metalliferous is an advantage.
• Blasting Ticket in Mining Engineering or equivalent is an advantage.
• Total of 8 years operational Hard Rock/Base Metal/Iron Ore type surface mining experience is required.
• Minimum of six (6) months operational Mine Planning experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize short-term mine schedules (8 weeks to 12 months).
• Data capturing and reporting to stakeholders.
• Ensure SHERQ adherence and compliance in area of work.
• Communicate effectively with team and manage planning processes.
• Maintain and use planning tools and databases.

About the job PLANNER SHORT TERM - NORTHERN CAPE

Our client, a leading mining company in the Northern Cape, is seeking a qualified Planner Short Term to ensure that through effective mine planning, sufficient ore at the right quality is readily available for extraction in the Short Term (8 weeks to 12 months maximum), which includes but not limited to:

Communication

• Planning
• Data capturing and reporting

SHERQ adherence and compliance in own area of work

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Mining Engineering

• B Tech Degree (NQF level 7) in Mining Engineering / Metalliferous is an advantage
• Blasting Ticket in Mining Engineering or equivalent is an advantage
• EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of eight (8) years operational Hard Rock/Base Metal/Iron Ore type surface mining experience
• Minimum of six (6) months operational Mine Planning experience is an advantage

(Total of 8 years operational experience)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Computer literacy - Basic user of MS Word, PowerPoint and Projects; Intermediate user of Excel; Intermediate user of Qlikview; Intermediate user of MineStar, CEAS, QMaster, MRM databases

• Functional knowledge - Working understanding of surveying, blast design and mine planning processes
• Planning and organizing - Ability to effectively plan various aspects of the job
• Communication - Advanced communication skills to communicate unfamiliar information to others; Practical application of theories
• Three-dimensional thinking
• Ability to visualize 4D model
• Drivers license - Valid Code B/EB driver's license
