Job description

Our client isseeking a skilled and dedicated Planner Engineer to join theirteam in the Northern Cape. The ideal candidate will be an advanced user of JD Edwards and MES systems, with a strong ability to perform diagnostic root cause analysis, report writing, and trend analysis. You will possess technical expertise, management skills, and a thorough understanding of legal systems, and functional requirements within the mining sector. Additionally, your ability to adapt to change, manage pressure, and deliver results while leading and supervising teams will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute asset care work management activities and processes to support the maintenance management of plant, mine, mechanical, electrical, and mobile equipment.
  • Ensure optimal availability and reliability of equipment to meet production targets.
  • Implement the maintenance management system effectively, ensuring all processes are followed.
  • Supervise and manage contractors to ensure quality work and adherence to safety standards.
  • Oversee budget and cost control measures for maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and lead maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and safety standards.
  • Foster people leadership by motivating, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) standards.
  • Uphold and promote high standards of work ethics and professional conduct.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
  • Grade 12.
  • Engineering Artisan Trade Test (Red seal).
  • National N3 Engineering Certificate.
  • Programme in maintenance management certificate (NQF level 5).
  • Supervisory certificate (NQF Level 5 - 150 credits).
  • Programme in Project.
