Job summary

Fruitways is seeking a Planner for its Commercial Department in Somerset West. The role focuses on collating market requirements into short and medium-term demand plans and ensuring stock availability for the sales team.

You will collaborate with commercial, production and quality teams, develop rolling demand plans, and optimise packing instructions to align with market needs. Strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Logistics or a similar field.
• 3-5 years' relevant experience, preferably in the fruit industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a rolling demand plan with inputs from sales, quality, and production.
• Generate and manage packing instructions for timely replenishment and stock availability.

Planner

We have an exciting career opportunity for a dynamic individual as a Planner in our Commercial Department. We are looking for a well organised individual who is a strong collaborator and who can work efficiently with our commercial, production and quality teams. The Planner will mainly be responsible for collating market requirements into a short and medium-term demand plan. This vacancy will be based at our offices in Somerset West, and reports to the Planning Manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a rolling demand plan based on inputs from the sales, quality, and production teams.
• Generate and manage packing instructions to ensure the timely replenishment and availability of stock for the sales team.
• Continuously review and align supply of product with changing market requirements to optimise sales opportunities across multiple markets.
• Collaborate closely with production facilities to ensure ongoing re-alignment and execution of packing instructions given changing market conditions.
• Monitor market and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations to support commercial decision-making.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Logistics or similar relevant field
• 3-5 years’ relevant working experience, preferably within the Fruit industry
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across various levels within the organisation
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal
• Strong analytical ability
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
