About the role:

The Operations Team Leader oversees contractor performance, contract management, coordination, and operational support across assigned stores/clusters to ensure service delivery in line with standards, service level agreements, and legal requirements. While the role has no direct reports, it is responsible for coordinating and overseeing staff operating under the specific contract. The role also drives effective use of the digital App by ensuring employees are trained, issues are resolved and escalated, and digital stakeholders are engaged to keep the App running efficiently.

Driver Enablement, Support and Engagement

Maintain regular engagement with contractors to provide operational support, resolve queries, and ensure their needs and concerns are represented in the business.

Provide on-the-job guidance and support to improve contractor readiness, service delivery, and alignment to business expectations.

Gather contractor feedback, identify barriers to performance, and support actions to improve the contractor experience and operational effectiveness.

Digital App Adoption and Stakeholder Coordination

Drive effective use of the digital app by ensuring employees are trained and supported to use the platform correctly in daily operations.

Monitor app-related issues, ensure they are resolved or escalated timeously, and track recurring challenges that affect operational delivery.

Work closely with digital stakeholders to address system issues, improve usability, and support efficient app performance.

Compliance, Assets and Incident Management

Conduct daily and weekly compliance checks to ensure contractors, assets, and resources meet legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Manage the issuing and tracking of assets, uniforms, and campaign-related items, ensuring all required documentation is completed and submitted accurately.

Report and support the resolution of field incidents and accidents in line with company policies and required reporting standards.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting

Identify opportunities to improve contractor self-service, operational processes, and cluster performance.

Provide input and recommendations to the Area Manager to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.

Collate and submit required operational and budget-related inputs accurately and timeously.

What you bring:

Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Safety Management or a related field - (essential).

+3 years' experience in an operations environment with at least +1 years’ experience in supervisory capacity – (essential).

Familiarity with performance management and improvement – (essential).

Experience in conflict management and resolving operational issues with professionalism and sound judgement – (essential).

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 with a focus on applicable tools to execute areas of function – (essential).

Experience in retail or FMCG industry - (desirable).
