Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company is seeking a dynamic Picker / Forklift Driver in Cape Town to ensure proper handling and picking of materials and finished goods. Responsibilities include maintaining hygiene standards, conducting stock checks, and adhering to food safety regulations. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in warehousing and a good knowledge of Syspro and WMS. A valid Reachtruck License is required, along with HACCP knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of warehousing/picking experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the Spice industry is advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of Syspro and WMS systems is essential.

  • Pick materials and finished goods accurately according to orders.

Deli Spices is seeking two dynamic, talented individuals to join our Operations team in Epping.MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBThe main purpose of the Picker / Forklift Driver is to pick Materials, Finished Goods, Marinades,BCE, Casings, Requisites, Consumables and other in the right quantity and according to thesystem requirements for Customer orders.

Responsible for accurate system movement, handlingand physical movement of all products and materials to eliminate loss or damage of productsphysically or in the system.

Responsible for excellent hygiene, housekeeping, and food safetystandards in Warehouse.Drive cost reduction whilst optimizing resources and meeting resource requirements continuously.Ensure All Materials is, stored, handled and issued according to system and process policies and procedures.Ensure All customer orders are picked in the right quantity of the right quantity / quality to meet the customer and Sales order requirements.Accurate stock control through cycle counts, FIFO principles and procedures, SYSPRO / WMS transactions.Adherence to all company policies and procedures with regard to the receipt, storage, handling, and transfer of all Materials and Equipment.Adherence to Food Safety, General Manufacturing Principles and Quality Assurance and Quality Control Systems.Drive Quality, Environmental Awareness, Safety, Security and Health in the workplace whilstassessing Risks continuously.People management through applied Human Resource and Industrial Relationship tools, policies, and procedures.

SCOPE OF JOB

  • Drive cost reduction whilst optimizing resources and meeting resource requirements continuously.
  • Effective material handling to minimize damages.
  • Accurate picking to eliminate stock discrepancies.
  • Execute Daily Cycle Counts as required to ensure good Stock accuracy.
  • Reduce waste in identifying and eliminating non-value adding activities in the operation through fostering an environment for innovativeness, trial-and-error and use of suggestion boxes and dynamic work teams.

  • Ensure All Customer orders is picked accurately and on time.

  • Ensure All Materials is handled stored and issued according to system and processpolicies and procedures.
  • Accurate Stock Control through cycle counts, FIFO principles and procedures,SYSPRO / WMS transactions.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures with regard to cycle counts, stockcounts, stock rotation, FIFO principles and SYSPRO / WMS required transactions.
  • Ensure all products in the warehouses have labels and tracking ID's with the correctproduct code, product description, unit of measure, lot numbers and expiry dates.
  • Ensure that All Materials physical location in the warehouses match the product's locationin SYSPRO / WMS.
  • Drive Quality, Environmental Awareness, Safety, Security and Health in the workplace whilst assessing Risks continuously.
  • Proper cleaning and housekeeping to be done as per the Company procedures.
  • Building and infrastructure must be compliant to Food Safety Regulations.
  • Ensure that damages to products and equipment is reported immediately.
  • All risks in the operation assessed and reported to Management.
  • Act as back-up Driver when required, as well as relieve the Distribution Driver from time to time with customer deliveries as and when operationally required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS LEVEL
  • Matric and a minimum 3–5-year warehousing / picking experience within the Food Manufacturing / Processing / Warehousing Environment or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the Spice industry will be advantageous.
  • Good working Knowledge of Syspro and WMS systems.
  • Valid Reachtruck License.
  • Good knowledge and experience of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), FSSC,ISO standards and related in a regulated environment (e.g., Food Industry).
