Overview

APPS is an independent girls’ preparatory school, from Grade 0 to 7. At APPS we believe in fostering a love of sport and physical activity that extends beyond the classroom, developing lifelong habits for health, fitness, and wellbeing. Through sport, our girls are encouraged to participate with enthusiasm, build teamwork and leadership skills, and grow in confidence.

Qualifications and Experience

• a recognised degree in Education and/or Sports’ Management;
• a relevant teaching qualification and experience, umpiring qualifications and understanding of developmental and competitive sport;
• record of innovation, commitment and professionalism, and self-motivated with a passion for teaching and nurturing a love for sport;
• excellent interpersonal skills to work co-operatively, and provide guidance to extramural teachers, as well as outside coaches;
• ability to teach Physical Education lessons in the Foundation and Intermediate phases;
• coaching experience and interest in many of the following sports: hockey, netball, soccer, tennis, athletics and swimming;
• have good organisational and administrative skills, and be computer literate;
• be in possession of a clearance certificate in terms of the Sexual Offenders Act
