Placements24 is seeking an experienced Pharmacovigilance Manager to lead the safety team from a hybrid base in Mahikeng. The role oversees the PV system, ensures global regulatory compliance, and serves as the primary safety contact with authorities. Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a health-related science.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the PV team to high performance.
• Oversee collection, assessment and reporting of adverse events per global regs.
• Develop and maintain PV system, SOPs, safety databases and training.
• Conduct signal detection and manage risk management plans.
• Serve as primary contact with regulatory agencies on safety matters.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance legislation and guidelines (GVP, CIOMS).

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Pharmacovigilance Manager to lead their safety team, operating on a hybrid basis from Mahikeng . This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's pharmacovigilance system, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements and safeguarding patient safety. You will manage a team of safety professionals, develop and implement safety policies, and serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities on safety matters. This is a senior position offering the chance to significantly influence patient safety strategies within a leading pharmaceutical organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor the pharmacovigilance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the collection, assessment, and reporting of adverse events in compliance with global regulations and company procedures.
• Develop and maintain the company's pharmacovigilance system, including SOPs, safety databases, and training programs.
• Conduct signal detection activities and manage risk management plans for assigned products.
• Serve as the company's representative in interactions with regulatory agencies regarding safety matters.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacovigilance legislation and guidelines (e.g., GVP, CIOMS).

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher (Pharm.D., M.D., Ph.D.) in a health-related science.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• In-depth knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations and best practices.
• Proven experience in managing safety databases (e.g., Argus, ArisG) and implementing PV systems.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and interact with stakeholders.
