Job Overview

We are hiring pharmacists for two positions at our client's locations in Fourways Mall and Roodepoort Mall.

The roles will involve dispensing medications, ensuring safe and effective use, providing patient counseling, and supervising pharmacy staff.

Fourways Mall and Roodepoort Mall.

Compensation

Market related compensation.

Experience

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, full-time.

Starting date

Immediately.

Core Responsibilities
  • Dispensing and medication management: accurately measure, prepare, and distribute medications according to prescriptions.
  • Patient counseling and education: advise patients on how and when to take their medications, potential side effects, and related health topics.
  • Safety and quality control: verify correct dosage, check for dangerous drug interactions, and review patient allergies.
  • Collaboration: communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient prescriptions and medication plans.
  • Vaccinations: administer immunizations such as flu shots.
  • Health screenings: perform basic screenings like blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar tests.
  • Supervision: manage and supervise pharmacy technicians and assistants.
  • Inventory and records: maintain accurate medication records and manage pharmacy inventory.
  • Other Potential Duties: Recommend over-the-counter medications; contact insurance providers to determine coverage for prescriptions; conduct wellness screenings.

Work in various settings, including community pharmacies, hospitals, or research and academic institutions.

Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) – a four‑year undergraduate degree with foundational sciences and specialized subjects.
  • Accreditation: BPharm must be accredited by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Practical training: includes hands‑on experience in hospital or community pharmacy settings.
