Job summary

Netcare invites you to join our team as a Pharmacist Assistant responsible for providing medications and support services to patients and healthcare staff under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist.

You will be involved in dispensing prescriptions, advising on medication usage, monitoring stock, and ensuring cost-effective practices while maintaining high standards of safety and patient care across hospital and retail settings.

Qualifications

• Dispensing of prescriptions under supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
• Provide advice on usage, side effects, interactions and storage of medications.
• Assist with monitoring stock and cost containment measures.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing prescriptions (hospital and retail) under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist with sale of Schedule 1 and 2 medicines or scheduled substances.
• Assist with compounding/preparation of medicines per SOP.
• Assist with manufacturing of medicines per SOP.
• Re-packing and stock control of medicines.
• Reading and preparation of prescriptions, labeling and supply of medicines.
• Monitor and reduce cost per event in the hospital environment.
• Manage stock levels and update doctors/wards on out-of-stock situations.
