Pharmacist Assistant- Bryanston, Johannesburg

POSITION INFO

Our client located in Bryanston, Johannesburg is looking for a driven Pharmacist Assistant to join their team.

About them

A leading compounding pharmacy with over 20 years’ experience in functional medicine, specialising in custom-formulated medications, nutraceuticals, sterile IV infusions, and tailored therapies. Their team of clinical pharmacists uses advanced technology and premium ingredients to produce patient-specific formulations for humans and animals. They also support healthcare professionals through consultation, custom orders, and a peer network, taking a personalised, root-cause-driven approach to health.

About the role

Perform all duties related to being a Post basic pharmacist assistant according to Pharmacy Law and best practice. Assume full accountability for the roll as Post Basic Pharmacist assistant for the compounding pharmacy

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all professional duties pertaining to those of a pharmacist assistant
  • Responsible for reviewing, interpreting and processing prescriptions received via email and telephonic
  • Responsible for preparing, dispensing and invoicing medication orders and prescriptions
  • Responsible for providing and supplying information related to the correct use of medication
  • Responsible for answering phones, assisting with queries and responding to pharmacy and patient enquiries
  • Responsible for completing invoices, emailing and effective communication with customers
  • Providing information on products prescribed and recommended other products as needed
  • Render assistance to other departments as may be required operationally
  • Uphold values and culture of organisation
  • Ensure good and continuous communication is preserved within the department and between departments and maintain harmonious relationships with colleagues
  • Work in a team environment with professional and non-professional staff members - take initiative, be self-motivated and think creatively
  • Ensure all aspects of Good Pharmacy Practice are adhered to - ethical and compliance aspects
  • Participate in official and unofficial stock takes as required by the company
  • Attend training and update product knowledge
  • Conduct any other duties that may be required by instruction from line manager or the MD
Minimum requirements
  • Relevant pharmacy qualification- Post basic Pharmacy Assistant
  • Registration with South Africa Pharmacy Council
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Manufacturing or compounding experience is a distinct advantage.

  • Planning of compounding schedule and workflow

Working Hours

Monday- Friday (08 : 30-17 : 00)
