The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.

A vacancy exists for a Pharmacist based at Life The Glynnwood Hospital , reporting to the Senior Pharmacist, Talita Otto . The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.

Critical Outputs

• Effective medication safety management. 100% reporting of medication adverse events and implementation of remedial actions as appropriate.
• Dispensing of medication as well as performing on-call, weekend and public holiday duties
• Participate in the implementation and compliance with LHC Quality management systems.
• Ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and LHC legal and professional standards.
• Delivery of strong service orientation towards patients, nursing and medical customers Participate in the active management of cost of sales of pharmaceuticals and VBC
• Build effective working relationships with doctors.
• Participate in achieving stock targets.
• Achieve optimal system utilisation.

Requirements

• Pharm with relevant clinical knowledge and experience in a hospital environment
• Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
• Understanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, regulation and challenges
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
• Pharmaceutical product knowledge
• Computer literacy is essential
