About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Manager to lead their quality operations in Durban . This critical role will ensure that all pharmaceutical products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems. You will oversee all aspects of QA, including compliance, audits, documentation, and regulatory affairs, ensuring adherence to local and international regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be a key leader within the organization, driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing and distribution processes, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence in the pharmaceutical industry in Durban .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.
• Oversee and conduct internal and external audits of suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal processes.
• Manage product release processes, ensuring all batches meet predefined quality specifications before distribution.
• Investigate deviations, complaints, and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, fostering a culture of quality awareness and accountability.
• Ensure all pharmaceutical manufacturing and testing activities comply with relevant health authority regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance within the pharmaceutical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of GMP regulations (e.g., SAHPRA, FDA, EMA) and quality risk management principles.
• Demonstrated experience in managing audits, CAPA systems, and regulatory inspections.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
