Responsibilities
  • Proactively advise, coach and support line managers on the full range of HR functions and services – including employee relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, job evaluation, remuneration and benefits, new starter administration, onboarding learning and development ensuring consistency with relevant legislation and company HR policy and procedures.
  • Support talent sourcing efforts and help identify exceptional minds, including pipeline building, ensuring role planning standups, guiding the hiring managers, and scheduling & participating in interviews where relevant.
  • Support recruitment & selection process aligned from job posts to managing interview schedules using our online recruitment tool as well as reference and iFacts checks.
  • Ownership of the onboarding process which includes gathering and uploading new starter data, ensuring first day readiness, signed codes of conduct, scheduling divisional onboarding and running HR onboarding sessions.
  • Advise and support line managers with IR related incidents and processes including coordination of disciplinary matters such as notice to attend, appointment of chair, record‑keeping and notice of outcome.
  • Accountable for driving absenteeism and case management initiatives.
  • Support all employee relations processes with templates, documentation and consultation minutes amongst other.
  • Assist our internal customers with day‑to‑day HR queries such as overtime calculations, leave & payroll queries, UIF documentation, maternity leave applications, etc.
  • Manage the resignation process, ensure leavers adhere to company policy and complete the exit survey supported by an exit interview.
  • Accountable for preparing weekly HR reports, staff movement, Employment Equity divisional reports, HR operational tracker, etc.
  • Accountable for ensuring data integrity on all HR systems and ensuring all HR trackers are up to date with live information such as secondments, addendums, new starters, IR data, incapacity cases, etc.
  • Draft and distribute monthly input sheets using payroll reports to confirm employee numbers, coordinate payroll input checks and submissions, payroll report checks with support from the HR officer and ensure payroll is aligned to data captured on change forms & HR tracker.
  • Coordinate engagement interventions including Employee Engagement Forum (EEF) support and any other intervention.
  • Responsible for gathering data for skills reporting and keeping accurate records and supportive documents.
  • Take ownership of ad‑hoc projects.
Qualifications
  • A degree in HR or related field.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Technology degree in HR Management or BCom HR Management or BCom Industrial Psychology or related field.
  • 3‑5 years HR experience in a generalist capacity.
  • Experience with HR databases and systems.
  • Proven theoretical knowledge of current legislation, labour law and HR policies.
  • Proven experience in Industrial Relations including the CCMA.
  • Experience in coaching and consulting in a changing environment.
  • Strong Google Suite and presentation skills.
