Purpose of this Role
The People Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations, including maintaining accurate employee records, managing time & attendance systems, supporting payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor regulations.
This role serves as a vital link between HR, payroll, and operations teams to ensure data integrity, process efficiency, and workforce compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- People Systems : This includes the HR system administration (Updates, maintenance etc), data stewardship, system optimisation and utilisation as well as automation and related user support. This also includes the project management of HR related system initiatives, implementing new systems, modules and enhancements.
- People Reporting and Analytics : Building, compiling and consuming reports and analytics / dashboards to serve the entire business needs on performance management, employment equity, time and attendance and other people and payroll related metrics that need to be measured to assist leaders in the business to make decisions that meet the company's goals.
- Remuneration, Benefits and Incentive programmes : To support employees that are linked to the performance management framework and the methodologies used therein.
- Payroll Support & Liaison : Provide accurate payroll inputs by compiling and validating employee and attendance data. Work closely with the payroll officer to resolve discrepancies and ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
- Compliance and Data Privacy : Ensure HR operations adhere to labour legislation, company policies and audit requirements. Maintain confidentiality and secure access to sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years' experience in HR administration, HR operations, or payroll support roles.
- Experience with HRIS and time & attendance systems: SAGE People and Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI and ERS Bio.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of HR data management and payroll processes.
- Understanding of labor legislation and compliance requirements.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across HR, payroll, and operations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
