We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented People Manager with a strong background in SME growth to join our team.

In this fast‑paced and dynamic environment, you will excel at managing multiple projects and making independent decisions. This comprehensive HR role covers the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to exit.

You will have the opportunity to design and implement impactful HR policies, benefits, and processes.

Reporting to the UK People Manager, you will lead both operational and strategic HR initiatives.

You will also manage teams and play a key role in driving the company's growth and overall success.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Support end‑to‑end recruitment in South Africa, including job design, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure legal compliance across all HR processes.
  • Advise and support line managers on disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with SA employment law.
  • Lead performance management programs, including appraisals and personal development plans.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Manage employee surveys and internal communications to keep staff informed and engaged.
  • Implement and maintain Midnite People policies and benefits to foster a positive work environment.
  • Streamline and automate People processes to improve efficiency and employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with South African employment laws and support international HR practices.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align HR initiatives with organisational goals.
  • Provide guidance and HR support to managers across the organisation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all people‑related matters in South Africa.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in HR, preferably within SMEs or growth‑stage businesses.
  • Strong knowledge of South African employment law and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience managing people operations, including payroll and employee engagement.
  • Desirable: experience with changing employment statuses or establishing a new entity in South Africa.
