  • Anglican Youthworks is seeking a People & Safety Manager to join the Operations Team.

Youthworks' Operations Teams purpose is to manage and optimise the details to keep Youthworks' everyday functions on track.

The Operations team focuses on maintaining efficiency of process, minimise risk, deliver on expectations, and helps teams make smart decisions.

About The Role

The People & Safety Manager is primarily responsible for the design, development, implementation and delivery of strategies and resources that support Youthworks Workers to be empowered, capable, resilient, and safe in their work.

This position provides HR & IR advice, improves business practices, leads projects and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

Coordinate development, implementation, and maintenance of a range of documentation including briefs, guides, policies, procedures, templates, forms, flow charts, reports and other documentation ensuring records are kept in a suitable manner.

Assist with the hands‑on delivery of HR & WHS management, compliance, and administration, if required and appropriate, to cover operational requirements (this may include travel to relevant Youthworks workplaces).

Continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and application of HR & WHS principles within the organisation in order to provide timely, accurate and compliant advice.

Lead a small team of HR & WHS professionals.

Qualifications
  • Qualifications in business / compliance / human resources or aligned discipline
  • Strong experience working across lines of service to deliver consistent outcomes
  • Experience managing multiple and competing stakeholder interests, as well as sensitive material
  • Experienced delivery of advice, insights, and recommendations
  • Experience in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of management systems
  • Demonstrated resilience, strength and initiative needed to thrive in a leadership role
  • Ability to grasp large amounts of information and be able to quickly learn and adapt
  • Ability to analyse, review and improve operational processes
  • Commitment to personal ongoing learning
  • Personal Christian faith and willingness to work within an Anglican organisation
  • Desirable: Church‑based safe ministry / safe church training programs endorsed by the National Council of Churches in Australia Safe Church Program
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Mental Health first aider certification
  • Experience in a non‑for‑profit setting
