Job summary

Placements24 in Soweto is seeking an Information Security Penetration Tester to proactively identify vulnerabilities in systems and applications. You will simulate cyberattacks, conduct tests on networks, applications, and endpoints, and provide remediation recommendations.

The role requires a 2–4 year track record in penetration testing, proficiency with Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap, and strong knowledge of networks and web security. OSCP/CEH/PenTest+ are highly desirable for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Penetration Tester or ethical hacker.
• Proficiency with penetration testing tools (Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and web application security.
• Experience in reporting and communicating vulnerabilities to diverse audiences.
• Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CompTIA PenTest+ are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external penetration tests against networks, applications, and systems.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
• Document findings with evidence and detailed explanations of exploited vulnerabilities.
• Provide actionable remediation recommendations to technical teams.
• Develop and maintain test plans and methodologies.
• Stay current with latest penetration testing techniques and ethical hacking methods.
