Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Penetration Tester (Ethical Hacker) for remote work with occasional client-site visits across the Eastern Cape, including Port Elizabeth. You will conduct comprehensive security assessments, simulate attacks, and deliver detailed remediation reports for diverse clients in the region.

The role requires 4+ years of pentest experience, proficiency with Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, and Wireshark, and strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Proficiency with Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, OS, web app vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
• Scripting or programming experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
• OSCP/CEH/GPEN/LPT or similar certifications are desirable.
• Ability to travel occasionally for on-site client engagements.

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking cybersecurity consultancy based in Port Elizabeth , is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Penetration Tester, also known as an Ethical Hacker. This role is instrumental in identifying vulnerabilities within our clients' networks, applications, and systems before malicious actors can exploit them. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive security assessments, simulating cyber-attacks, and providing detailed reports with actionable recommendations. This position is primarily remote, offering flexibility, with occasional requirements to visit client sites across the Eastern Cape, including Port Elizabeth . Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proficiency with various penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, web application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10), and common attack vectors.
• Experience in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a significant advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, or LPT are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated understanding of ethical hacking principles and legal considerations.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site client engagements as required.
