Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Penetration Tester for a fully remote contract-based engagement. You will proactively identify vulnerabilities across networks, applications, and systems, conduct rigorous security assessments, and deliver detailed reports with actionable remediation guidance.

The role requires 3+ years of penetration testing or ethical hacking experience, strong tool proficiency (Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Nessus, Kali Linux), and a solid understanding of security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven 3+ years as a penetration tester or ethical hacker.
• Strong proficiency with pentest tools (Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Nessus, Kali Linux).
• Understanding of networks, OS, web tech and common vulnerabilities.
• Certs such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform network, web, and mobile application penetration tests using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
• Identify, exploit, and document vulnerabilities (e.g., SQLi, XSS, buffer overflows).
• Conduct social engineering assessments and physical security tests as required.
• Develop comprehensive penetration test reports with findings, risk assessments, and remediation recommendations.
• Stay current with attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and testing techniques.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and ethical Penetration Tester for a remote, contract-based engagement. You will conduct rigorous security assessments, simulate cyber-attacks, and provide detailed reports with actionable remediation recommendations to enhance our security posture. Key Responsibilities

• Perform network, web application, and mobile application penetration tests using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
• Identify, exploit, and document vulnerabilities, including but not limited to SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and buffer overflows.
• Conduct social engineering assessments and physical security tests as required.
• Develop comprehensive penetration test reports detailing findings, risk assessments, and practical remediation recommendations.
• Stay current with the latest attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and penetration testing techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a penetration tester or ethical hacker.
• Strong proficiency with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Nessus, and Kali Linux.
• Excellent understanding of network protocols, operating systems, web technologies and common security vulnerabilities.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, or similar are highly desirable.
