  • The Payroll Practitioner / HRIS Assistant supports the Payroll and Human Resources departments as a hybrid position.
  • Responsible for the bi-weekly process of payroll using UKG Dimension and Meditech 6.7.
  • Including all withholding, positive pay, tax report processing, and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Supports the Human Resource team's efforts in processing voluntary and involuntary deduction changes by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the data entries.
  • Runs various bi-weekly payroll reports, adjustments, and special payments.
  • Prepares payroll checks and direct deposit notices for delivery and distribution.
  • Compile, distribute and File W-2s.
  • Transmits payroll reports to banks, communicates with banks regarding payroll discrepancies and reviews Positive Pay files daily.
  • Prepare and submit union dues, funds, and reports monthly.
  • Confirms and mails bi-weekly withholding checks.
  • Prepares all special check request.
  • Responds to management and employee questions and inquires by phone and email.
  • Prepares payroll reports for grant vouchering, all other reports as requested.
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly and year end closing as well as annual audits.
  • Performs other related assigned duties.
  • Full life cycle of garnishments: employee notifications, withholding entry into Meditech, ensure withholdings are sent to appropriate garnishees timely.
  • Input NYSNA dues.
  • Initiation fees and dues.
  • Ensure year end indicators are marked appropriately pertaining to employees participating in Retirement Plans and those who have received Third Party Sick Pay.
  • File room coordinator.
  • Serve as a liaison between Payroll, HR, and the employees.
  • Handles multiple customer service-related issues that may arise via walk in, email or phone.
