Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Practitioner to join our clients' team! If you are passionate about accuracy, compliance, and smooth payroll processes, this role is for you.
Weekly Payroll (300 employees)
- Accurate payroll administration on Sage 300.
- Capture and reconcile leave balances on the PRP clocking system daily and import to payroll.
- Process and verify all payroll documentation timeously.
- Load new employees and process terminations in line with Bargaining Council rules.
- Finalize weekly payroll and submit reports to management by set deadlines.
- Submit BC03 forms to the Bargaining Council weekly.
- Reconcile Bargaining Council contributions (Health Care, Provident Fund, Union, etc.) monthly.
- Administer and process weekly wage payments, garnishees, and maintenance orders.
- Submit weekly statistical reports.
- File and archive payroll documentation systematically.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Liaise with HR management and the Bargaining Council on payroll queries and compliance.
Monthly Payroll (200 employees, Head Office & Retail)
- Accurate payroll administration on Sage 300.
- Process monthly payroll documentation and finalize reports within deadlines.
- Submit accurate net payment files for bank transfers.
- Perform monthly reconciliation and submissions for Medical Aid Provident Fund and Funeral Policy.
- Stay updated on tax legislation impacting remuneration.
- Extract and submit monthly EMP201 and payroll General Ledger reports to Finance.
- Complete bi-annual and annual tax year-end submissions and reconciliation.
- Submit monthly UIF declarations and handle UIF documents for terminations and maternity.
- Submit monthly statistical reports.
- File and archive payroll documentation systematically.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Address staff and management payroll-related queries.
- Perform ad hoc payroll duties as required.
Requirements
- Relevant HR / Payroll tertiary qualification.
- 3-5 years payroll administration experience on Sage 300.
- Solid knowledge of South African tax legislation.
- Proven ability to provide accurate advice on payroll processes, labour laws, and regulations.
- Experience working with a Bargaining Council is essential.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
Education
Relevant HR / Payroll qualification. 3-5 years Sage 300 payroll experience (weekly & monthly). Knowledge of SA tax legislation & Bargaining Council processes. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and compliance. Valid driver’s license and own transport.
