Overview

Are you a detail-oriented HR professional with expertise in payroll and employee benefits? We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll and benefits processes across all company entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction. This role is pivotal in supporting people management practices, optimising HR systems (particularly Sage 300 People), and fostering a culture of engagement, trust, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle payroll and employee benefits processes across all entities.
  • Submit payroll reports and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support annual and ad-hoc remuneration reviews, incentive schemes, and salary updates.
  • Maintain Sage 300 People Payroll, HR, and Self-Service modules; ensure data integrity and system optimisation.
  • Train stakeholders on HR systems and implement process improvements.
  • Utilise Remchannel and Remeasure tools for job evaluation and remuneration benchmarking.
  • Compile statutory reports (ROE, SARS IRP5, Stats SA) and support audits and compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance on employee benefits (Medical Aid, Provident Fund, Group Life) and process applications and deductions.
  • Support HR initiatives, documentation, policy updates, and team collaboration.
Key Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation (BCEA, LRA, SDL, UIF, OHS) and payroll best practices.
  • Proficiency in Sage 300 People Payroll, HR, and Self-Service modules.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Financial acumen related to payroll and tax matters.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and high integrity.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to work independently and collaboratively, adaptable, and solutions-oriented.
Education & Experience
  • Relevant qualification in HR, Payroll, or Finance (completed or in progress).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll, remuneration, and benefits.
  • Proven track record with Sage 300 People and managing audits/statutory reporting.
