Job description

This role is perfect for a Payroll Administrator who takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality. You’ll manage the end-to‑end payroll process using SAP, ensuring every employee is paid correctly and on time while maintaining compliance with all statutory requirements. Working closely with HR, Finance, and auditors, you’ll be the go‑to expert for payroll queries, system troubleshooting, and data integrity within a fast‑paced, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and process the full payroll cycle on SAP, including validations, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Administer employee benefits, deductions, and statutory submissions (EMP201, EMP501, provident fund, etc.).
  • Maintain employee records and ensure all changes (promotions, terminations, etc.) are accurately updated.
  • Handle SAP Time Management (PTMW and FLOW), ensuring accurate time and attendance records.
  • Maintain the organisational structure within SAP, including cost centre allocations and position creation.
  • Serve as the main contact for payroll-related queries, ensuring professional and confidential employee support.
  • Collaborate with IT and consultants on SAP-related issues or updates.
  • Conduct payroll audits and ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Design and manage SAP authorizations and access controls.
Experience and Skills Required
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 57 years experience in payroll administration (SAP or Sage experience highly advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of South African payroll legislation and statutory reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and data validation techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service‑oriented mindset with a proactive approach to resolving queries.
