Red Ember Recruitment on behalf of the client is seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to be in Franschhoek.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft exceptional pastries and desserts contributing to unforgettable dining experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and design a wide variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for the restaurant menu.
  • Develop innovative pastry and dessert options for seasonal menus and special events.
  • Create and modify recipes to suit customer preferences, dietary restrictions or feedback.
  • Ensure proper FIFO procedures for food storage and rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, appearance, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Oversee ingredient quality and proper handling of all baked goods.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on special menus for events, promotions, and seasonal changes.
  • Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies, minimizing waste and controlling costs.
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts and maintain accurate stock documentation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
  • Matric Certificate.
