Job summary

IIE Rosebank College invites passionate professionals to join our team as Lecturers. The role focuses on delivering training and education, student consultations, and building a knowledge base through research and development, while supporting the Academic department.

Key duties include presenting content (online or in person), marking assessments, and applying interventions for at-risk students. Ideal candidates hold a relevant bachelor’s degree and have lecturing experience in digital design

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in digital design/media/graphic design/multimedia.
• A related bachelor’s degree with digital graphics experience is acceptable.
• 2–3 years lecturing or formal tutoring.
• 1–3 years industry-specific experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Present content in a classroom environment (online or physical).
• Arrange consultations with students.
• Analyze results at a modular level.
• Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback.

Job Purpose:

The role of a Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students; student consultations; the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; whilst providing overall support to Academic department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Presenting content in a classroom environment (online or physical, as required)
• Arranging for consultations with students.
• Results analysis at a modular level.
• Marking assessments and providing constructive feedback
• Employing interventions for at-risk students.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in digital design/media/ graphic design / Multimedia
• Or A bachelor’s degree in one of the Digital Graphic/Media/Multimedia related fields with digital graphics or a similarly related field to the third-year level
• 2 to 3 years Lecturing or Formal Tutoring
• 1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialization will be advantageous.

Experience

• 1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation
• 1 to 3 years lecturing experience.

Key Competencies (Academic):

• Experience in digital graphics/ digital design/multimedia/Microsoft Office / Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere
• Lecturing experience in Digital Marketing/ Marketing/Photography/Digital Photography
• Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.
• The ability to provide student support services.
• The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.
• The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
• Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
• Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
• Ability to manage time effectively.

Working Hours (Full Time):

Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday. Your working hours will depend on the modules allocated to you.
