Job summary

A local recruitment agency is seeking a highly organised Financial Accountant to manage core accounting operations for approximately 30 hours per week. The role involves preparing financial statements, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Applicants should have a degree in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of financial accounting experience, and familiarity with Sage Pastel is advantageous. This is a part-time position based in Tokai, Southern Suburbs, Cape Town.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' financial accounting experience.
• Experience with IFRS for SMEs.
• Working knowledge of Sage Pastel is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month/year-end close.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and ensure correct VAT treatment.
• Handle statutory submissions and support external audits.
• Monitor cash flow and bank reconciliations.
