A SaaS agricultural business is seeking a Part-time Finance Manager to oversee UK accounting compliance and financial reporting. The role involves managing statutory records, tax planning, and mentoring a Senior Accountant. With an estimated 5 million farmers and over 5, distributors globally, Smartwyre works across the agricultural supply chain, from large corporations to local farms.
Presently, we work from the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and South America.
We are building a B2B SaaS platform to network together the commercial operations of the companies that supply the world's farmers with seeds, fertilizer, chemicals, and services, with their target markets being the United States, Europe, and LatinAmerica.
We aim to first offer SaaS applications to solve key commercial pain points (pricing, costing, quoting), then network these companies using a common data platform (transactional data exchange, product information publication, people networking, and user analytics), and finally empower the network to facilitate new business model amongst network participants.
This part-time role oversees UK accounting compliance, financial reporting, and treasury management across UK and US entities.
Key responsibilities include maintaining statutory records, submitting regulatory returns, managing AP / AR processes, and producing consolidated financial statements.
The role also supports tax planning, process documentation, and the transition to NetSuite.
Reporting to the VP Finance, it involves mentoring a Senior Accountant and collaborating on budgets and forecasts.

Prepare and maintain UK accounting records, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
Manage the accurate submission of returns as required by UK regulations.
Complete some of the monthly reconciliations for the US and UK entity and produce consolidated financial statements for management review.
Monitor and reconcile intercompany balances to ensure accuracy and alignment across entities.
Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, driving efficiency and streamlining workflows.
Manage treasury tasks including the validation and oversight of cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
Improve our cash summary and cash requirements reporting.
Prepare a comprehensive tax calendar for both US and UK entities, outlining key deadlines and submission dates.
Assist with tax studies and submissions, supporting compliance and strategic tax planning activities.
Document internal processes to support operational clarity and efficiency.
Work with the team to facilitate a seamless transition to NetSuite, ensuring all financial operations are migrated smoothly.
Prepare various internal reports as required for management and operational decision-making.
Report to VP Finance and be part of a small international team.
Manage and provide training to the senior financial accountant to support a smooth handover of duties within one year's time.
Assist the finance analyst in preparation for budgets and forecasts.
Prior experience with NetSuite is essential.
Experience working in a small team in a Tech company.
Demonstrated ability to manage a small team effectively.
Possession of a recognized accounting qualification.
Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a commitment to continual improvement.
