Job summary

Damen seeks a Part Sales Engineer Services to act as the primary contact for customers across Africa regarding spare parts, logistics and day-to-day service support. You will drive the full sales process, coordinate orders with suppliers, and collaborate with the Account Manager and regional colleagues to ensure smooth deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent in a technical or commercial discipline.
  • Experience in a technical sales role is preferable.
  • Good command of English is required.

Responsibilities

  • Be the main contact for customers across Africa for spare parts, logistics and service support.
  • Manage the full parts sales process from needs assessment to offers and orders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with Account Manager and regional teams across Africa and the Netherlands.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers and manage delivery times and prices.
  • Handle administrative tasks and build dossiers for sales orders.
  • Work in a fast-moving environment with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

The Role

As a Part Sales Engineer Services, you will be the main point of contact for customers across Africa when it comes to spare parts, logistics and day‑to‑day service support. You will manage the full parts sales process: from understanding customer needs and preparing offers to coordinating orders, suppliers and deliveries.

You will work closely with the Account Manager, Sales Manager and colleagues in South Africa, West‑Africa and the Netherlands. In this role, you need to enjoy a fast‑moving environment, communicate clearly with different stakeholders and take ownership to get things done for the customer.

Key Accountabilities

This is a good fit if you like to do the following:

  • Active approach towards (potential) clients and inform them about the possibility of delivery of specific components;
  • Within your region, you will be responsible for the proactive sales of spare parts;
  • On a successful sale, you take care of the process by interacting with supply chain regarding procurement and logistics;
  • Maintaining contact with both clients and suppliers about delivery times and prices;
  • Performing accurate additional administrative work, such as building a dossier for each sales order;
  • Keeping track of the many sales orders running simultaneously;
  • Cooperating with colleagues to strive for a better result every day.
Skills & Experience

We ask our future Sales Engineer Services to come prepared with the following:

You Have
  • Preferably a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or equivalent vocational qualification in a technical or commercial discipline;
  • Experience in a technical sales role preferable within a Service Department;
  • Good command of English.
You Are
  • Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders;
  • Commercial proactive, result-oriented, with initiative, assertiveness and management skills;
  • A pragmatic, persuasive Sales Engineer with a solid personality, fitting within a dynamic organisation with a hands‑on culture;
  • Decisive and at the same time flexible in your approach and works methodically;
  • Able to influence, put things into perspective and also knows how to have the patience that is sometimes needed to achieve results;
  • Well able to manage expectations.
  • Already living in South Africa, preferably in Cape Town.
