A leading travel organization is seeking a Paralegal / Legal Administrator in Johannesburg for a 6-month project focused on restructuring the online legal filing system. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a legal administrative role, proficiency in Google Workspace, and strong organizational skills. This hybrid position requires working a minimum of three days in the office.

About the Role

The Paralegal / Legal Administrator will play a key role in a 6‑month project aimed at organising and restructuring the company's online legal filing system within Google Workspace. This role is central to ensuring simplified access, improved structure, and accurate record‑keeping of both new and historical legal documents. The successful candidate will also provide general paralegal and administrative support to the Head of Legal, working both independently and collaboratively.

This role is based at our Cape Town Office in Gardens.

Working Hours

5 hours per day - Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in office)

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the organisation, structuring, and streamlining of the online legal filing system (Google Workspace).
  • Catalogue and migrate historical legal records into an accessible and logical structure.
  • Ensure all legal and administrative paperwork is up to date, accurate, and compliant.
  • Support in drafting, reviewing, and formatting contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Conduct basic legal and factual research when required.
  • Provide administrative support to reduce backlogs in legal operations.
  • Assist with compliance‑related documentation and processes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure integrity in handling sensitive company information.
  • Meet project deadlines and deliverables with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Law, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or related).
  • 3–5 years' experience in a paralegal or legal administrative support role.
  • Proven experience in document and filing system management (digital and physical).
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.) is essential.
  • Legal background strongly preferred; ability to follow detailed instructions essential.
  • Knowledge of or exposure to AI tools (advantageous).
  • Excellent organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively within deadlines.
