About the Role

About the Role — As a Paralegal you will provide specialist support for LexisPSL’s Scottish practical guidance, focusing on the priority practice areas (PPAs) Property, Dispute Resolution, Corporate Crime, Restructuring & Insolvency (R&I), and Private Client. You will relieve PSLs of routine maintenance and administrative tasks, enabling them to focus on content development and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing annual and ongoing legal maintenance reviews for Scottish guidance documents, ensuring they are current and compliant, and perform XML quality assurance on all content items.
  • Reviewing new and updated content for accuracy and completeness, handle PSL (Professional Support Lawyer) requests, and coordinate with PSLs and external experts for validation and publication.
  • Monitoring Scottish legal news sources daily, draft and publish news items, and maintain trackers for news analysis and journals.
  • Circulating Scottish case digests, ensure proper treatment of cases, and verify that cited pre-devolution legislation is available for research.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the Scotland Collection, conducting quarterly audits to ensure all content is properly linked and indexed.
  • Managing commissioning tasks by identifying and supporting authors, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, metrics reporting, and support the organization of internal meetings and panel sessions.
  • Continuously seek improvements and efficiencies in content and processes, adapt content from other jurisdictions where possible, and support scalable drafting through AI and precedent development.
Requirements
  • Have a Legal qualification or paralegal experience, ideally with exposure to Scots law (Scottish law graduate preferred but not essential).
  • Have impeccable attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of documents and trackers.
  • Have experience in legal editorial work, XML QA, and toolkit maintenance.
  • Be able to monitor and synthesise legal news and developments from multiple sources.
  • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with PSLs, authors, and external experts.
  • Be familiar with Lexis+ and related legal research platforms is desirable.
