We require the services of a Palliative Care Manager to provide clinical programme leadership to the Palliative Care Services clinical team ensuring service excellence to patients and their families.
Entry Level Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
- Tertiary education qualification in Nursing.
\- Postgraduate training in Palliative Care will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a health management environment.
- Registration with a recognized professional body: SANC.
- Proven advanced stock management ability.
- Fluency in two of the official languages of the Western Cape will be advantageous.
- Proven team leadership capabilities.
- Proven advanced administrative ability.
- Advanced computer literacy with experience in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter. Unendorsed driver's license.
Key Performance Areas
- Provide leadership ensuring that professional and clinical standards are maintained of the highest quality.
- Manage all activities required to drive the achievement of goals within Palliative Care Services community teams.
- Meet Palliative Care Services reporting requirements; coordinating and consolidating all community programme reports for sharing with key stakeholder audiences.
- Provide oversight to clinical care record systems ensuring records are accurate and up to date at all times, and stored securely.
- Work collaboratively with the entire Palliative Care Services team through active participation in departmental budget processes.
- Provide oversight towards the execution of departmental administrative activities.
- Identify gaps in staff competencies within the Palliative Care Services community team and facilitate acquisition of the requisite knowledge and skills upgrades across the department.
- Serve as lia¬son between SLCH and the Community Hospices thus ensuring all parties are kept in the loop on all pertinent activities.
- Facilitate people development.
- Manage staff performance and adherence to policies and procedures within codes of conduct.
- Perform ad-hoc and other tasks as requested by HOD: Palliative Care Services and relieve as and when required in the event of staff shortages.
