Orthopaedic Receptionist & Practice Coordinator

Location: Milnerton Mediclinic, Cape Town

Practice: Orthopaedic Practice

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30

Salary: R10,000 – R16,000 per month (depending on experience)

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Orthopaedic Receptionist & Practice Coordinator to join our busy orthopaedic clinic in Milnerton Mediclinic. This exciting opportunity involves managing the front desk operations, serving as the first point of contact for our valued patients, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Interaction: Greet and assist patients with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure.
  • Appointment Management: Efficiently schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, optimising the practitioner's diary.
  • Billing & Administration: Accurately process medical aid claims, handle private billing, and maintain meticulous patient records, adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Communication: Manage all incoming calls, emails, and other inquiries, providing clear, concise, and helpful information and assistance.
  • Front Desk Operations: Maintain a tidy and organised reception area, and assist with general administrative tasks as required to support the practice.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in medical reception or administrative roles, with strong knowledge of medical billing processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional and courteous telephone etiquette.
  • Attributes: Proactive, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks effectively, work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred: Previous experience working within an orthopaedic or specialist medical practice is a distinct advantage.
