About the Role

This role requires working autonomously as well as part of a team; and effective and efficient communication, to drive the coordination and production of high quality and compliant bid proposals.

Responsibilities
  • Management of the Bid Support Office resources
  • Define and look at current practices and processes which are in place (i.e. systems, templates, company information, employee CVs etc. legal documents).
  • Design, develop and maintain a knowledge repository for the purposes of submitting quality tenders and proposals.
  • Create an opportunity register incorporating a scoring matrix or using bid/no bid questions linked to business strategy
  • Track opportunity life cycle of tenders and proposals up to submission.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, Marketing to ensure correct information is fed into knowledge repository.
  • Provide input into the planning of tenders and proposals.
  • Responsible for the up-skilling of employees in using the available tools for drafting and preparing submission of tenders and proposals.
  • Advise Marketing on website updates and changes to assist with winning more opportunities. (Successful tenders/proposals, current clients etc.)
  • Follow-up with clients to obtain feedback when tender/proposal is not successful.
  • Hold debriefing sessions with teams to provide feedback as to why Bigen was not successful in their tender/proposal submission.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technical/business writing or journalistic skills or related fields
  • The candidate must be registered as an APMP Professional
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience within a corporate bid environment and a thorough understanding of tender processes and procedures either in professional services or the infrastructure industry would be a minimum requirement.
  • Prior experience in managing multiple projects successfully
  • Writing, editing and verifying the accuracy and quality of information used in proposals ensuring relevance and compliance
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills, time management, document management and production skills - especially in managing large and multiple documents; as well as the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • An advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite is required
  • Must be self-motivated and highly energetic
