ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an operator mobile equipment relief, you will be responsible for safety loading, hauling, dozing and dumpling activities in the Mamatwan plant area.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Participate in investigations into workplace incidents;
• Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incidents to the responsible person;
• Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;
• Conduct risk assessment before all tasks and identify risks and hazards;
• Operate mobile equipment based on operational requirements;
• Keep mobile equipment clean and in a good condition all the time;
• Will be required to operate the different machines based on operational requirements.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years minimum experience in operating mobile equipment in a mining or plant environment.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 10 for internal employees and Grade 12 for external employees;
• At least 3 of the following equipment licenses: Excavator, CAT Hauler 770, 777, CAT loader 992, 980 or CAT dozer D8, D10 is essential;
